FAQ's
What does PurplePatch actually do?
PurplePatch provides independent credit bureau data benchmarking. We compare what your organisation pays for credit bureau data against what similar organisations pay for the same services.
Where pricing is above market levels, we identify the discrepancy and, if required, support negotiations to correct it.
Which types of organisations do you work with?
We work with organisations that rely on credit bureau data, including banks, lenders, BNPL providers, utilities, energy companies, retailers and other data-driven businesses.
Our work covers both consumer and commercial credit data.
Do we need to change credit bureau supplier to save money?
No. Most clients remain with their existing supplier.
Our role is to establish fair market pricing and improve commercial terms, not to replace bureaux or disrupt data access.
How much time is required from our team?
Very little. The initial free assessment typically requires under an hour of client time.
We handle the benchmarking analysis and provide clear outputs that procurement and finance teams can act on.
Why do you offer a free benchmarking assessment?
Because many organisations simply want validation that their pricing is fair.
If pricing is competitive, we confirm that. If not, we explain the opportunity clearly. There is no obligation to proceed beyond the initial assessment.
How do you know what others are paying?
For more than a decade, PurplePatch has conducted over a thousand benchmarking exercises
This has allowed us to build an independent dataset of real pricing across sectors, usage patterns and geographies.
Is our data kept confidential?
Yes. All work is conducted under NDA and data is aggregated and anonymised, ensuring privacy while enabling meaningful benchmarking.
Can you help mid-contract, or only at renewal?
We support both.
Many clients engage PurplePatch mid-contract to address pricing discrepancies, billing issues or changes in usage.
How are PurplePatch fees structured?
The initial benchmarking assessment is free.
If you choose to proceed to negotiation support, our fee is typically 25% of the savings achieved. If no savings are realised, there is no fee.
Are you accredited or approved to work with regulated organisations?
Yes. PurplePatch renews its Hellios FSQS Stage 2 qualification annually. This accreditation is used by major banks and financial institutions to assess supplier risk and compliance.
What if our pricing is already competitive?
Many clients value independent confirmation that their pricing is fair. In these cases, no further action is required.
